I’ve recently got a hold of this reel. It’s a ABU Record 1800 Model C. The thing is just that I don’t know how to operate it as it doesn’t have a push button och spool tension knob from what I have been able to find. The only thing I have been able to find is a switch which engages the “drag clicker” and a turnable knob at the base of the reel handle which increases or decreases the resistance when reeling.
It’s been in storage for at least 20 years and is as dry as a desert. Found one Japanese guy who did som maintenance. And might give that a go. Even though my Japanese is non existent.
But I also emailed ABU and asked if the have some instructions or anything that they could send me. And also if it was possible to just turn it in at the factory where they produce the Ambassadeur in Svängsta.
I would be extremely thankful for any help!!!

Cool find. It would make as a good mantle piece but in wouldn’t use it to fish with
