Just got into fishing and have some questions about baitcasters and lures. I started out with a $10 spinner walmart combo and it broke after I caught my first fish.. upgraded to this lews speed spool and abu garcia rod combo.. haven't used it long but I'm learning more about fishing everyday.. so my questions are what would be a good line to use, I'm hearing about braided lines and different weights, it can be a little overwhelming with so many different options. Same with lures, so many to choose from but I have no idea what to get lol.
The lake I go to is stocked with catfish, bass, crappie and bluegill. What's a good line to use that'll produce a farther cast and hold up to the bigger fish? And what are some recommended baits to get so I can stock up my tackle box? Thanks in advance !
