I’ve caught fish on frogs with worse gear (not saying this is a bad setup). Timing the hook set is the biggest factor. I say go with what you can afford and have fun. Personally I prefer hollow body frogs.

This combo wouldn’t be in my top 10 of choices. Definitely need a higher ratio at the very least. I’d recommend bait caster, braid and 8 or higher ratio.

Watch out the baitcaster elitists will tell you not use a spinning rod. A spinning rod will work just make sure you are using a heavier braided line.

itll work. i swear ppl dont even know why they use baitcasters. i have a few baitcasters. i like them. i dont know why ppl who use baitcaster think its impossible to frog on a soinning reel
