These guys and great blue herons are a good sign there's lots of fish around
For cormorants, you gotta look where there diving
For herons, they will be wading, so fish where you see them wading
Snapping turtles also eat baitfish, so if you see one of those, it's a good sign there's fish around too
I've found the best spots to fish, down to an exact "honey hole" location on the river where the bass are

There’s also wild life that will avoid areas where large fish exist.
Ducks (especially with ducklings) won’t go anywhere near a large pike or bass, so if you see ducks, the spot is probably not gonna have any large fish swimming around
