I am being told at my local shop that this is not good for casting. I was under the impression that because it had a breaking system and a wind level that it was designed to cast?
I’m looking for a bait caster for an 8’ swim bait rod (salt water). I like the larger 310yard capacity of this model but I am only familiar with compact bait casters.
I know Penn makes the squall and fathom with some decent spool sizes but they are as big or bigger than this and about twice as expensive, plus a good 2-3 ounces heavier.
Any personal experience with this reel is appreciated. Or any other recommendations for that matter.
