I was fishing for bass in my local lake, I’m a new fisherman. O’Dark 30 and this hit my 4” swimbait with all my line in the water. I didnt know what fish it was or if I could keep it so I released him. Had a good release, stopped by the bait shop and they told me it was a big black crappie and crappie are rare for the lake. I had no idea! I measured him with a mark on my net, estimating 15/16”. The size chart says around 2.5 pounds!
Guy was a slab, I had a hard time picking him up 1 handed and unhooking him for this reason.
