Back in spring I got a beautiful blue mustard gas betta and gave him his own 10 gallon planted tank. There's a few ember tetras in there, 2 nerites and some shrimp, but it's 100% his crib.
His blue color deepened as he settled in to his new home. All of a sudden over the last couple weeks he's changed, which I now know is from a marble gene. He's dropping the blue for white and it's amazing to watch. Every day I come home and Burt Macklin looks different. I was spooked at first but the tank is healthy and thriving. What a trip!
Tank parameters are fine. It's thriving, plants are growing like weeds and everything is healthy
