A buddy of mine gave me an old 8’ surf fishing rod and a reel he no longer wanted. The original braid on the reel was nasty so I replaced it. I spooled it on under pressure (like I do with all my rods) and it looked fine, nice and snug. After casting a few times and reeling in I noticed the line that was being reeled in was not only looking loose on the reel, loops and knots were starting to appear as well. Is there a way to perhaps tighten the bail (just spit balling here coz this is new to me) or do something to the reel to make it “wind tighter”? The line went on just fine when I spooled it on, which is why I am a bit confused 🤔
