I’ve been looking into catching and cooking panfish and perch lately and am wondering if these are a good size to eat. My province doesn’t have size requirements for keeping most fish so I’m asking specifically about viability of filleting/cooking, not regulations. Thanks!

Heck yeah, that will fry up nice! My kids catch some that are even smaller and if they swallow the hook we keep em. Thats definitely eater size.
I’d say so! The filets on that size of fish are small, but depending on where you are you might struggle to find panfish bigger than that. Quantity is key for a good meal when panfishing!
Absolutely. One will make you mad though. You need to fry a bunch, white bread and mustard.

They’re all eating size technically, it’s just a matter of how much of a pain in the ass you want the cleaning of the fish to be.
