Bought a clearance Vanford 2000HG on a whim, when the new 2024’s were announced and finally got a rod to hang it off of before a work trip. 7’UL Premier. Giving 4 lb. Trilene Sensation a try. So far it’s ok, but I’ve seen plenty of data to the contrary. Will likely switch to some Sufix Siege or Advance later on. Their 832 has been my go-to.

Overkill reel for a UL rod but nice setup. How much did you score the Vanford for?
Sufix Elite is some of the nicest mono I have used in a long time. The way it is wound onto the spool is perfect, and it goes onto casting or spinning reels perfect without line twist. It is about 1 line size thicker than Trilene XL, or Stren if that’s what you’re used to so compare by diameter as always.
