Materials & tools:
* Clamp and vise grips
* Scissors
* Super glue
* Braided fishing line
* Hair tinsel pack (polyester fiber)
My process is evolving, but for the first attempts:
- Lay tinsel strands across a piece of braid line and secure with an overhand knot
- Attach to clamped hook by wrapping around the hook shank and a loop of the braided line
- Knot the line off by passing through the loop and pulling tight, similar to a snell knot
- Trim tag ends
- Super glue the whole thread area
Its a cheap way to add flash on hooks that are already in the tackle box.
Next step will be testing them in the surf!
