About three months ago when I went out to my boat, my all-time favorite fishing rod was stolen. I have had this rod and reel Combo since the 90s so I was devastated. Tonight at low tide, I saw it in the water underneath my boat. It must have blown out somehow. The water is salt water, and it was submerged for the last three months. Is there anything I can do to salvage this reel and make it work again?

Depends if you want a project. I was gifted one that kinda looked the same and I took it opportunity to rip it all apart, clean it, degrease it, lube it all back up and put back together. Works great now 🤷‍♂️

  2. I mean I magnet fish for fun. Look at those guys since I’m new but first submerge in vinegar and water for a bit. Clean then do it again.

I mean you could probably get it functional again, but you’ll probably spend more on it than a new one would cost. And it’ll probably never be as good as it was.

If you are dead set on it and the body is still good, you could potentially replace all the internals and be ok. But finding the parts to do so might be difficult.

  4. U can probably save everything but u’d need a new spool, the pitting along the spool lip will scruff and damage ur line.
