It might be because the food is too big, so maybe it has to sort of spit it out so it doesn’t choke on it. That would be my only guess really. Unless it just doesn’t like the food I don’t know what it could be

That’s normal, all fish do that the gill rakes on the back of the gills have sharp hooks that cut the food up as it passes over them
