I have this reel and want to put 20 lb braid on it. The manufacturer only lists up to 14 lb braid. Is 20 lb braid okay to throw on it? Still new to how fishing line ratings and stuff work. I’m going to be fishing for larger bass and pike primarily and last time I went I used 20 lb braid without issue, it’s just this time I’ll be taking my own gear.

Powerpro is 6 pound diameter. Yes. Just tape it to the spool before you start reeling otherwise it’ll slip when you pull on it.
Yea, you can put 20 on there. Be sure to use backing or tape so it doesn’t slip on the spool.
I think you only really need to worry about what your pole can handle. For example… 20lb Braid on an Ultra light pole is no good.
