Yes. If you plan on changing lures often. But to me it looks like you have a very heavy pound test line installed. It will take a lot of weight to sling that line out there. Do you have plenty of line on the reel? Is the line weight too heavy for what you are fishing for?

If it were me, and this was being used for pike- I’d put a leader line in front of it. A split shot a foot up the line may help with casting.
