I was fishing yesterday and caught this goby (klipfish) which seemed to have a very weird inflamed and soft tongue.
It bled when I took the hook out so I know it wasn't anything it ate but the tongue itself.
Has anybody seen this before?
This was caught off a pier in 3m water.

Looks more like the swim bladder/intestines rather than the tongue. These can evert when bringing fish up from deep. 3m is certainly not deep enough tho!
That’s its guts. Barotrauma. Happens from the change in pressure when you pull a fish out of deep water. No idea how you managed to do it in 3m.
Barotrauma or overhand death grip on a 5 inch baitfish.
