Is the bail of a reel supposed to have so much dead space when closing? Or is it supposed to close all the way more easily?
Cheap effective scupper plugs. Only use the ones for under my seat cause my favorite pastime is splashing water on my butt when I sit down đź«

I’ve seen trout act this way just after being stocked. I actually just reached down and grabbed one out of the water once.
