I fish in a creek that contains tons of schools of largemouth bass, big and small. I’ve just recently gotten this lure and every time I throw it out, the fish will chase it but not bite. I try to reel in real slow. Is this lure too big?

  1. I would try to do a direct tie instead of using the swivel. If that doesn’t work it could be the action of the lure itself.

  2. Like everyone else is saying, ditch the hardware. It’ll get you better at tying knots too. I’m probably faster tying a knot than trying to get a small snap open

  3. everyone saying the snap swivel and tag end r the issue. they right. but maybe just toss something even more simple. wacky wig or texas or something will get them bro.

  4. Yes, tie direct. Also, if they are following but not eating, try the same lure in another color or tie on the same lure in a smaller version.

Vary your retrieves and action. Reel slow then fast. Point your rod to the right, then switch tocthe right
It will make the fish look like it’s changing direction. Can throw some switches in there. Find what they like
