Well, I treated the net with a fabric softener soaking. The soaking was one step I forgot to do. Some don’t soak it. However, after watching 4 million YouTube videos, this was the only thing I did not do. Is this really a thing? I haven’t thrown it yet. However, I’m positive that was my issue. I initially took it out the plastic container, and started throwing it. 🤦🏾♂️

I have been throwing cast nets my entire life. I have never done anything to them.
I throw nets all the time. I don’t ever soak it in fabric softener unless the nets been stored away for a long time. What was wrong with it?
