What are you guys using to snag salmon this year?

  1. Serious question, if you cut off that barb, would this still be barbless, even with the tip bent over like that? I’m curious both legally, and ethically (i.e. minimizing damage to the fish).

This year, im dodging the COs with an early halloween costume and disguise…..

Using Regular old size 6-8 egg flies on a drop shot rig……swung down and across on a tight.line and 12 foot leader.

Complete with shiny new waders and the latest in orvis gear.

Go pro camera on my Filson hat.

    Hanging out at tippy dam.

    Pure Michigan right there!

(I swear he hit it! …..Sometimes they swat at it with their tail to stun their prey….just like they do out in the lake!)

  3. Weighted treble hook apparently does the trick from what I have witnessed. In all seriousness, I’ve seen people doing it from the banks legally in the saltwater in Alaska. I always cringed wondering what would happen if it popped off the fish and came at your face full speed.
