Usually Im hunting for these lil beauties. But I'm going to Moss Landing for weekend and I thought I'd try my hand at Salt Water fishing.
I'd love any tips that y'all can share about the Bay Area, but my main question is will my 9ft 9wt be adequate, or will I need to rent gear?

I’m a bit North of the Monterey Bay. What are you targeting?
The fishing has been slow around the beaches in my area- I suspect the stripers are moving back into the bay. Surf Perch might be your best bet. That being said, the Monterey Canyon feeds right up to Moss Landing so there’s lots of wildlife out there.
