I use these in the fall only, purchased in 2019. The heel counters were cracked and the liners were getting to be a mess. I left the bars on too long and the heads of the screws deformed enough to need to be drilled out. I had made this mistake once before. Instead of drilling them out this time, I figured I’d get the boots recrafted and let Danner deal with it when they put on new soles. The boots look great. The biggest difference is the liners…nice and new, no longer all jacked up. I didn’t expect them to put new bars on the bottoms, so that was a nice surprise. I’m definitely going to remove these bars after this fall season ends, before they wear down too low. Anyhow…just thought some might like to see the B&A pics if buying these boots is a consideration.

  1. I’ve always been curious about these boots, would love to know how you like them. I’ve had Danner hiking boots for years and will never switch.

How’s the comfort and durability level?

How long was the wait and what was the cost of the recraft?
