So you connect the mainline to swivel. Bottom interlock snap is where the sinker snaps on. But the middle interlock snap can you put and hook directly onto the snap and just close it? Or do I need to tie a leader, very confused because heard mixed things

  1. Before I answer, what are you planning on using this for? What kind of fish are you targeting?

That will determine your best course of action!

  2. There’s multiple ways to use these depending on what you’re fishing for.

It really depends. Personally I don’t use metal leaders unless I’m fishing for some sort of heavily toothed fish.

If it were me I’d chuck on a hook on both snaps a dead fish.

  3. I would never recommend using a hook directly on the interlock snap.

Here’s how I would rig it. Weight at the bottom snap. Barrel or “crane swivel” to the top snap. With leader line and a hook tied to the other side of the line.

Make sure you are using appropriate leaded material. Saltwater maybe steel line with a haywire twist. Fresh water mono or floro.
