I've managed to exceed my expectations of myself.
That's a 1990s …aka vintage…Ugly Stik rod with thier "Quik-Fire" reel that I removed the trigger from because it was horrible to use….it sucked in the 90s and it still sucks.

operator error
The reel you’re using is prone to initiating such an ordeal. But, you’re part of the problem too. Practice makes perfect. So, once you’ve mastered one of the worst name brand reels on the market, get a better reel and you’ll be laughing at your learning curve.
