First off I don’t know if this is the right subreddit to post this question in. I’ve bene looking for an inflatable boat for a while now ,and I was wondering if you guys have a suggestion or advice for a person who has bene in a boat ,but never owned one before. I found an inflatable, the SE9 by Sea Eagle. I heard it was so good boat for the budget. I will most likely start by using a trolling motor. I would like to eventually get the 2.3 by Honda to put on it. I’m a big guy 310 pounds and I want something stable, where I’m from there’s allot of boats (wake waves)and some wind, I heard it likes to slide when wind is involved. I would get the sts10 but budget says no. I will most likely redneck some boards together to stand on and use lawn chairs to sit on in it.

This is a jumbled mess of words and I hope someone can read this. I’m barely passing English.

  1. I had this boat with a trolling motor. Caught scores of crappies and other pan fish. A bit of a hassle to set up. You get better with time but it would be at least 20-25 minutes to set it all up and about the same to put it away. This was way before the Kayak industry took off. If I were to do it again, I’d probably get a good quality fishing kayak instead.

  2. I have one and have used it a few times. I would save your money for something a little better. I also have one of their two man pontoon boats that I really like but it’s a bitch to set up unless you have a trailer and someone to help carry it to the water or boat ramp. I probably use my kayak the most because it’s so easy and fast to get on the water and get fishing. I don’t have a nice fishing kayak just a cheaper one with a rod holder mounted on. And never get a float tube unless you want to work your ass off. Honestly if you’re in northern Utah I’d give you my raft.
