Does anyone have any idea how this happened?? This color change has happened in the last 1-2 weeks. First picture is from July, but he has looked like that since I got him. Second picture is from today. He has been very energetic still has his appetite. All numbers looked good. I’m doing a 40% water change and adding AQ salt. Do we think it’s fin rot??

I’m not an expert, but we experienced something similar with our betta. To start, the color change is completely normal. Most bettas do change color until they’re fully grown. From my experience, they change color when they’re in the right conditions and feel comfortable/safe. However, I am concerned with how the bettas fins look. We went through fin rot with our betta and this definitely resembles it. I would research your specific kind of betta to get a better understanding of what fin rot looks like on them. Not sure if this is much help, good luck!
