i just got my new betta, and it looks like the pellets are too big for him. he'll chew them, spit them out and repeat. i also have some dried bloodworms, but it doesn't seem like he likes them. i'd prefer foods i'm able to order online!

  1. My stupid self didn’t read your full post, and now I saw it said he doesn’t like blood worms! What blood worms did you get him? Some blood worms are not all natural, so definitely have to look out for that. The brand, “Fluval” blood worms your swimmer might like better. Or you can get the frozen bloodworms! 🐟
If that doesn’t work, they can eat live foods like small crickets, fruit flies, or micro worms! (:

  2. i do fluval bug bites and ultra fresh betta fish food both are really small and my betta likes them. i also feed hikari bio pure freeze dried blood worms and they seem to like those too.

  3. Crush the food and feed him. He’ll be fine. My betta had a similar problem and I simply used to crush the food and feed him.

  4. I’ve never seen any betta of mine eat freeze dried bloodworms. frozen are better. I only feed frozen foods but that’s my preference. if you don’t want to do frozen then Bug Bites makes tiny betta pellets and so does Xtreme Aquatic. or you can try soaking what you have in a bit of tank water for a few minutes before feeding.
