Meet Lucky here in this 5,5 feet tank it might be 400 litres.

He is a golden pearl highback and is 5 months old ig maybe 4 months. He has a very bright colour on his tail back there(not visible in the video properly)

I’ve consulted so many guys who have kept arowana for so many years, some say there must be almost no flow in the water, like there must still water for a arowana as it’d damage or hurt him.

Some others say it is fine he’ll be fine.

I’ve tried sponge filter, it doesn’t really do anything tbh. I cannot try canister filter as I don’t have enough funds yet for that. The one in this video is a top filter.

Is this setup okay? The other strip down there is an oxygen stick.

I am basically a newbie please help. He’s on dry feeding en sometimes blood worms. He likes blood worms a lot!

In the video above, is he trying to play with it? He usually plays with the bubbles from the oxygen strip(idk if he plays or something).

What is the very convenient and efficient way to maintain the water and Lucky, how can I take proper care of him?

Please gimme a solution! About the filter and his care. If I am missing out something please help me out.

  1. Okay well this is actually insane of you. You have absolutely no idea what you’re doing and you decided to start with an Arowana??

This is wrong and so stressful, current in water is way too much, you shouldn’t have a problem with a sponge filter, since it is only one single small arowana. Get a bigger sponge filter if possible. Remove the submerged pump, or internal filter or whatever that is. No substrate for arowana is fine, as seen in many arowana keepers, if sponge filter is really not enough, add an external filter too

  3. I’m so confused. You’ve asked around for advice but you end up with an empty aquarium and a flow of water that seems way too high, at least to me.

I don’t know anything about this type of fish but i doubt any type of fish enjoys an empty aquarium with high flow. You usually set up the aquarium before buying the fish and putting it in there …
