Looks like a great way to catch a bunch of weeds.

I mean, in theory you could thread the tube on, then tie the hook on and slide the tube back. But you’d need weight, so youve have to slide a weight on before the tube. And youd have to put a swivel or a weight stop on the line because since the hook is not protruding, the weight would probably push the bait back too far during a cast.
That said, it looks like it could actually catch fish if it were rigged right.
And then ^that said, at that point its just easier to use a tube jig lol
