Not enough swimming space, not enough water volume, not enough space even without the bonsai, sharp edges of the bonzai hazardous to longfin bettas, overall a bad decision on your part joey :/

Remember that bettas thrive when given as much room as possible, not from having a small tank made even smaller
Edit: Especially considering that these are short-finned bettas, meaning they’re much more active swimmers than long-finned bettas and thus need plenty of space to roam around

Love the tank! I have a beautiful red male that I bought as a female…very tiny at the time. He LOVES settling under the plants waiting for a mate. That is perfect.
Once you buy the A1 Betta Trio you know you have a serious problem. Anyway, great work on the scape; you could have also created the same "bonsai" effect by putting a naked troll doll in each compartment.

Hey, lovely scape 🙂 I used to have this tank but I got rid of it in the end because the fish were actually able to nip each other through the little slits in the walls where the water passes through! I did cover the holes with mesh and that fixed it but the flow of the tank slowed right down and I just wasn't a fan. I also had one or 2 of the fish jump through the holes in the lid. I had such bad luck with this tank, I hope you have a betta experience 😉
