I’ve previously mostly casted from shore here and this year have only been catching small small mouths. I took a kayak out last night and caught my first ever pike (!) in what I’m guessing to be at least 3 m of depth so I looked it up after and realized the pike and bigger bass are probably deeper than 3m due to it being end of a pretty hot summer. Where I cast from is in a shallow part of the lake that drops off fairly gradually which is why I think I’m not getting as many good bites.

Does anyone have any insights on where else I should target? Feel free to save the image and mark it up as needed. Much of the shoreline around the whole lake has weeds so fishing cover is not difficult, its really depth and shoreline contour I need help with – want to make my paddling worth it!

FWIW the governments website also says there is also rainbow smelt (last identified last year) and speaks (last stocked in 2021) but I’ve never caught these nor seen pictures on Fishbrain, would they be in the deepest part of the lake near the bottom?
