Any good methods for cooking mackerel? Been catching a bunch and would like to try it instead of always releasing.
Whenever I’m skunking with the lures I throw out some shrimp and hit mackerel non-stop. Would love to try and cook some of it. Open to any suggestions or methods
You on the west coast? That looks like a jack smelt, not a mackerel.

I agree with the above comment. it looks like a jack smelt. If you keep the smelt, either use it for cut bait. Maybe there in the surf or take em home and try it for catfish.
