Hey everyone! An experienced fisher buddy of mine from work gave me this baitcasting reel for free. He said this would be a good “learner” baitcasting reel to get started on. He told me that once I buy a rod for it, he would take me out and teach me how to properly fish with it. My question is, what rod would you pair with this? Since it’s an introductory reel to baitcasting, I’m not looking to break the bank. But I would like a rod with a little quality to it too. Would be used for largemouth bass and fall walleyes are coming up. Any suggestions on what rod I should get? Thanks in advance!

  1. A 6’6” Fenwick Eagle medium-light casting rod is a nice rod for beginner bass/walleye fishing and a good step up in quality and sensitivity from an ugly stick.
