Betta Fish: Hello all! My roommate just gave me her old bettas tank, and I was wondering what I need to do to get it in shape to house a betta again.

I know practically nothing about this, I mentioned in passing about wanting to start a tank and she gave me hers. It is a 10g planted tank, with a clay substrate(?) A heater and what she said is a filter but I suspect is to pump air into the tank. A full spectrum light and assorted foods and a water conditioner. Any assistance would be wonderful! 😊
