I went out yesterday to make a YouTube video doing some ultralight fishing on one of my favorite smallmouth Rivers. But, instead of smallmouth fishing, I wanted to target rock bass. I wanted to see if rock bass were good eating. I ended up keeping four rock bass and a smallmouth. They were all delicious! If you can find rock bass in the 8-in area, you can get a decent amount of meat from them. They are really good eating.

Yum. I ate a lot of rock bass growing up.
In PA you can keep 50 I go out with my dad we’ll catch a dozen or so 4-5 inchers a piece and have fish for days. They’re great to eat
