Was going for some surf perch with fake sand crabs on a Carolina rig. Wasn’t casting too far out at all. Surprised to bring this guy in, released him back. Carmel River State Beach.
Nice catch, looks 22″. Honestly unless you’re way out in the water, this is about as big as you’ll get from shore in Carmel. In Alaska they’ll be barn doors though lol
