Hit the driftless area for a couple trout streams/camping. Caught this little guy on a black wooly buggar, my first ever brown. Brownies are native in this particular stream now so I thought that was pretty cool. I’ve started fly fishing this year and it’s been awesome figuring this out. We ended up with 6 total trout for our dinner, my first ever fresh trout cook.
My buddy ties his own flies and gave me a few as we left today, including a clauser to try on some local ponds for bass. I never thought I’d consider fly fishing for bass but I’m hooked and want to get better with the fly rod.
