It's been about a month since I got my betta and the water smells like grass and mould. Every time I lift up the lid I can smell it but it wasn't always like that. For the first week or two, it was fine there was no smell and not much algae but can't say the same now. I've also been struggling with algae, not sure what type it is but I attached pictures. I try to remove manually but it keeps coming back. How can I get rid the algae and odour?
My water parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 0 nitrates, 0kh, 120ppm gh and pH 7. I don't use any fertiliser and I keep the lights on for 8 hours.

Blue green algae, also known as cyanobacteria.
I had this problem with a new tank. I received advice that the tank is “starving” and needs micro and macro elements. I started to fertilize and the problem disappeared.
