So I’ve been fishing only since this past spring, using just a spinner combo, but I’ve been wanting to try a baitcaster for the last couple months so I finally got a Lew’s Mach Smash.
I started by watching a ton of videos to avoid backlashes but my first day I had such a bad backlash that I had to go home and cut it out. I actually was about to sell the thing for 50% of what I paid, but I got myself out there for 2 more days and got the hang of it till yesterday when I threw my final cast and got this bass. So this is my first fish caught on a baitcaster, first caught on a Texas rig, and first I’ve caught on plastic(been using live bait.) Now that I mostly have the hang of the baitcaster I love the thing, next year I’m going to get a BFS set up.

Anyone else try one and love it or are thinking about it?

Baitcasters are so much fun dude, I got my first one a little over a year ago for frogs and now I have 3 that I bring with me. Unless I’m bringing the ultralight for fun’s sake the spinning rods stay at home now lol
