If you don’t mind lily pads, you can skip trimming.
But if you want them to grow low, you gotta keep trimming.

I love this plant. Mine had grown like a lily pad, with a beautiful and smelly flower on one leaf. It grows very fast when it decides to reach the surface, and it’s only in good conditions.
