Not a salmon fisherman but I’m fairly confident that’s a northern pikeminnow. We ain’t got em around these parts, but I’ve always wondered how they would fair as cutbait when catfishing. They look like they’d make a delicious chunk of cutbait to temp a giant blue

Looks like a pikeminnow, they’re a big enough problem in Washington that the state will pay you to catch them. There’s a guy making I think like $70k a year fishing for them

That’s a pike minnow and I’d keep them all day just because of the impact on salmon. They eat salmon smolts (juvenile salmon). You’ll find plenty of places don’t care how many you catch and keep.

Looks like a Peamouth. They are commonly confused with Northern Pikeminnow Peamouth have mouths that don’t come back as far as the Pikeminnow, which has its mouth ending just about below the eye.
