Saltiga 5000 on termar XX 8ft extra extra heavy fast.
Took the vr75 out for a spin today. Boy! That rod can drop dimes. So far pretty happy with the reel. What I like most about it that it’s super super light and able to hold 400 yards of line.
Figured I’d upgrade the bigger rod to an extra extra heavy since I was getting owned by a monster tarpon last week to the point I felt helpless. HOPEFULLY this could give me a bit of an upper hand if I ever come across another fish like that again in my life. Saltiga also holds 440+ yards of braid so if I’m in a pinch there’s a fighting chance with this rod and reel I could land a fish of my dreams.
