Well I decided to play it stupid this morning and try a buzzbait on my ultralight setup. I purposely left my 2 bass rods in the vehicle. 4lb stren mono and a strike king mini Buzzbait on a no name 5'6" rod with a Lews Speed spool spinning reel. Had to be careful setting the hook because I was worried about snapping the line setting the hook too hard. I used an EWG hook off the main hook as a trailer, made sure it's super sharp. Ended up catching this guy. Had to fight it for a few minutes to avoid breaking off. Not the largest I've caught but probably the most fun on such a small setup. Needless to say, I'll be doing this again.
