Caught this beautiful gar today in Virginia and I didn’t have a scale (not that I would know how to use it on this fish) so I was wondering how you estimate a fishes weight? I see people do it all the time on this app and I always wondered how they would come to a conclusion.

I would recommend wrapping something around that bill. I’ve seen Gar snap back and absolutely FLAY an arm. Great fish though.
