Biggest I got out of this backcountry lake. Barbless Red bodied gold Panther Martin spinner. Get ‘em back in the water right after and swam away strong.
Where are you in the sierras I live in the mountains and was just up 9,000ft trying for some golden I caught like 20 browns and no golden. Not saying I don’t like catching browns I do but a golden is on my list for native trout species. I read a thing about the golden out of native kern area. The gold miners along time ago took some fish from kern area and planted the golden in a lot of the high country lakes around the upper elevation lakes between kern county and the Sierras i live by Yosemite National park.
