Black unweighted leech. Cast far as I can across slow current. Current keeps tension on line so I can feel a strike.
Strip, strip, striiiiiiip, paaaauuuuuse, repeat. Rides up high so they see the silhouette against the sky.
Push water with 2 quick short strips to get their attention. Long slow strip for proof of life. Pause so they can hit without missing (they do miss half the time).
Seems best to have the rod tip in the water. Less line commotion. Easier to feel a bite.
Caught more last night than during the day.
