All my life fishing meant carp, a few days per year in my hometown.

Then a few years ago bass got introduced to my country and I got the bug bad… But I still only fished in rivers meaning I only do it for a month every year. (Vacation plus remote work)

This year the will to fish got too strong. I live close to the sea and close to a brackish water river. Googled a bunch, watched YouTube a bunch and finally decided to give it a go.
As you can see from the pictures it worked. I was beyond happy with this fish. Delicious to.

Obviously I own no proper gear for this, the rod that caught this fish is a carp rod. You couldn't see the bite at all! Something tells me I will soon. Back to Google to find what to buy! (Suggestions welcome)

Next goal is to catch a sea bass on a lure!

  1. If your goal is to catch sea bass and just general lure fishing, you cant go wrong with a medium spinning rod paired with a saltwater rated reel.

Sea bass and freshwater bass use generally same lures and equipement, just make sure they are salt ready

  2. You caught a white seabream! Or sargo where I’m from, fantastic eating fish, one of my favorites
