I just bought Daphnia for my aquarium fish.
The packaging said "Daphnia" but I ended up finding these little creatures while feeding my fish. After a little research I found out thise where white mosquito larva. Does this happen often or is this a mistake?

  1. yes it is white mosquito larvae aka glass worms, you got a free ”try if your fish likes this” worm as I call them, sometimes I will get copepods mixed with daphnia and also got a glass worm once, he will eat the tiniest daphnia or copepods though (if they don’t have microscopic organisms available they will usually eat each other) so feed him to your fish if you are trying to keep the babies alive to start a culture
