Pier fishing around Long Beach. (Couldn’t do something about the loud bell sound) Never got a bite at Belmont so I tried the ones on the side of the queen Mary yesterday. Never got a bite with frozen shrimp so asking for recommendations on what else I could use. Fish were there, they were curious, I could see them but no bites. I also had a spoon in my 8’heavy set up and could see them chase but no bites. Spoon was over 1oz and the fish were maybe a foot long so it could have been too big. Lure rating on that rod starts at 3/4oz so maybe it’s too big and I need to look into a lighter set up?
