I was fishing in a mountain creek in Alberta and caught this. It’s my first creek fish ever. Any idea what it is? My buddy’s guess was cutthroat trout. Thanks!
Not a cutthroat, it’s some type of char but not sure which kind. Maybe a brookie or arctic char

I believe it’s either an arctic char or a Dolly Varden, but I’m sure you will have someone chime in that knows these fish better than me. It most certainly not a cutthroat.
